The Government of Pakistan, through the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), has announced a significant increase in the prices of petroleum products effective from March 1, 2026.
According to the official notification, the price of petrol has been increased by PKR 8.00 per liter, bringing the new price to PKR 266.17.
Similarly, High-Speed Diesel (HSD) has seen a hike of PKR 5.16 per liter, now retailing at PKR 280.86. Kerosene oil has also been made expensive by PKR 8.20 per liter.
These hikes come amidst rising international oil prices and regional tensions. Business leaders and the general public have expressed deep concern over this surge, fearing a new wave of inflation across the country.
